At Over the Moon Mini Ranch, we pride ourselves on providing not just exceptional puppies but a truly elite, family-centered breeding program. Our Guardian Program is a cornerstone of our ethical approach, designed with the utmost care and attention to the well-being of our dogs, ensuring they thrive in loving homes while continuing to enrich our breeding program.

We believe that every dog in our program deserves more than just a role—they deserve a family. That's why we place our breeding dogs in permanent Guardian homes from the time they are puppies. These homes aren’t just temporary—they are forever. Each dog is adored as an individual member of the family, with the privilege of being loved, cared for, and treated like royalty.

Unlike other programs, we maintain an elite standard by avoiding:

• Overbreeding or overpopulating

• Kenneling or keeping dogs outside

• Leaving dogs in inadequate environments such as garages or unsanitary grounds

• Retiring dogs to strangers

Instead, our Guardians enjoy the unique opportunity to raise a dog that’s more than just a “working” pet. These dogs are cherished family companions who travel with their families, sleep in their beds, and grow up in a warm, loving environment. Once the breeding program is completed, the dog is spayed or neutered and stays with the same family they’ve known since puppyhood—creating lifelong bonds that truly last.

This extraordinary arrangement comes at no cost to the Guardian family. You’re not simply taking care of a dog; you’re nurturing a valued member of Over the Moon  legacy, all while receiving the unconditional love and companionship that only a well-raised puppy can offer.

To ensure this program’s success, we have specific criteria for Guardian homes. These are not just a privilege but an elite opportunity for dedicated families who meet the highest standards. We ask that you fill out an application if ALL of the following apply to you:

• You live within 2 hours of Irmo, SC

• You own your own home with a secure, fenced-in backyard

• There is someone at home during the day and night while the puppy is growing up

• You can afford high-quality food, grooming, and the ongoing care necessary for a dog’s well-being

We’ve carefully set these criteria to maintain the highest standard of care for our dogs. Over the years, we’ve received many inquiries from well-meaning individuals, but we know that dog ownership is a significant responsibility. As such, we do not place dogs in homes where the resources or commitment to proper upkeep aren’t available. This program is for families who are ready to offer a loving, lasting home and take the privilege of Guardian care seriously.
